CHIROPTERA

Chiroptera is an exciting project which born in this new stage of the legendary Valencian discotheque Spook. It brings with it an innovative encounter between the artistic production of emerging artists and the vibrant nightlife scene. During its regular programming, Chiroptera aims to merge artistic expression with the nightlife of the legendary Valencian discotheque, in a unique creative symbiosis.

The word ‘Chiroptera’ refers to the scientific name of the order that encompasses all types of bats. This term is echoed in Spook’s distinctive logo, backed by the iconic image of a baby bat, symbolising the emergent nature of the artistic proposals of the participants in this project.

The project enters a terrain that embraces disciplines linked to the living arts, such as performance, dance and happening, while coexisting in harmony with audiovisual installations of great visual impact.

The process begins with the careful selection of a group of artists by the Spook team, giving them the freedom to create unique pieces designed especially for the different spaces of the venue. In this way, an exciting dialogue emerges between the artists, the DJs, the venue itself and the audience.
